In the “water is wet” section of the Daily Mail there is an article about an American CEO refusing to bail out a French tire factory because of how lazy the workers are there.
Maurice Taylor, CEO of Titan Industries was approached by the French Minister of Industrial Renewal (and Chief Potentate of Things That Will Never Happen In France — if his title were properly translated from French into reality) about buying out a Goodyear plant in Amiens France.
Here is part of the reply:
I have visited the factory a couple of times. The French workforce gets paid high wages but works only three hours. They get one hour for breaks and lunch, talk for three, and work for three. I told this to the French union workers to their faces. They told me that’s the French way!
